I was rebuilding carbs every since my first dirtbike when I was 8yrs they single carbs are easy

I didn't grow up in an automotive family. I always thought cars were cool, but never really got into them and starting reading/learning/talkin with people till I was about 13. I have back problems and shit, so I was never all that into 4wheelers or dirtbikes either. I was a sports guy. Converted to uber car guy.

My dad couldn't tell you the difference between a connecting rod, and his own rod, seriously. My older bro was into cars somewhat, but he was 9 years older then me, moved away when I was like 10, so I didn't have anybody to show me the ropes so to speak. Self taught, and proud of it.

And yeah single carbs are extremely easy.

I think I was about 5 when my dad started restoring a 70 Mach1 so I would get him tools and watch, by the time I was 8 you could tell me to grab about any tool and I would know what you were talking about. Plus my dad owns his own bike shop so I have always had a dirt bike or atv or go cart, and when something would break on them my dad would make me fix them so I had to learn it, then I went to school for 3yrs, was a mechanic for 2 years, detailed for 1 yr. I got some experince I guess

The only thing car related I've ever picked up from my dad was my love for 70-72 Chevelle's. They are by FAR my favorite car. My dad's first car was 72 Chevelle SS (Gold/black hard top) 454/4speed, bought it brand new with 6 miles on it for under $3800 out the door.

Then wrapped it around a tree while doing over 100 all hammered racing a Superbird.

I just hope, before he dies, that I'll have the chance to hand him the keys to another, and tell him it's his.

Yeah, I understand that. I've met my fair share of asshole Mustang owners, and I own one. They're (I'm saying they, because I don't consider myself an asshole, I fuck with people, but I do it out of fun 9x out of 10, and as my buddy StickerGuy would say,"If I didn't like ya, I wouldn't so much as say a word to you, I fuck with you because you're my friend") the ones that make us true enthusiasts look bad. I've learned from what I used to do, I WAS a cocky Mustang owner, thought my car was the shit, untouchable. Then I got my ass reamed by a 00 SS Camaro on the bottle, and that humbled me a lot. There's always some-one faster. We all mod our cars because we enjoy it, weather you swap your stock speakers out for aftermarket ones, or you build a complete show/drag/track car. You do it to make YOU happy, no-one else.

Every car with an enthusiast fanbase will have some jackasses that give every-one else that enjoys just modifying their car for personal enjoyment a bad name.

Us Tuners need to stick together. Wether it's a fuckin CRX or a Mustang, or a RX-7 with an LS1 (omfg sex).

With the way things are going with gas prices, emissions, etc. Our hobby, our lifestyle will be shut down, and forgotten. If we want to keep our hobby alive so our kids can enjoy it as we have, every-one just needs to realize, modding a car is modding a car. Regardless of FWD, RWD, V8, 4 banger, AWD, whatever. We all have the same interests. Modifying cars, it's what we do, it's in our blood, we're freaks of nature so to speak, it's our peice of heaven on Earth so to speak.

Oh, and there's ALWAYS somebody that's faster. I already said that, but I don't give a fuck.
