i said i didnt believe it because of the experience i had, flame if you want, i don't care. it felt UNSAFE.

i know i rely on facts but what makes you think the mustangs could all of sudden turn around and be a safe car after many years of being unsafe? sounds fishy to me.

I knew that. Which is why, the Key word i used was "modern". The Fuel Injected 5.0 would be a bit more modern and current. Ford used them last in 1995 in the mustangs and 2001 in the explorer.

yeah, they are dangerous. they are light and have a V8, that's not a good combination. i don't believe the crash ratings on the new mustang because i have ridden in a 2002 GT and that thing feels like if i even get hit by a shopping cart it's going to fall apart, that is my opinion though.
Any car is capable of being dangerous in the hands of a bad driver. Even your porsche. Testosterone + performance car can always lead to dangerous behavior and risk taking. They are cheap, fairly quick, plentiful, and usually find there way into the hands of young inexperienced drivers. It's more the drivers fault then the cars fault. Again, nothing short of luck is going to save someone going triple digits.

Look into this little article. The mustang recieves the same crash test rating as the Accord.
http://caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddri...ywords=mustang

They've got actual government testing to back it up. And you'd be surprised at how heavy mustangs can get. They aren't exactly featherweights. The new v6's are around 3100lbs, new Gt's around 3250lbs, new Mach 1's around 3400, and the new Cobra hover around 3600lbs. They've got some weight to them.

try any of these message boards

If that was as serious as that site made it out to be, it'd have been out and done with long time ago. Ford still wouldn't be selling close to 200,000 mustangs a year. The reported cases are less then a dozen. Wow, i wonder how many other cars have caught some sort of fire during a high speed rear collision? That pales in comparision to the tens of thousands of mustang that have seen accidents. Just to give you a hint, mustangs are ranked #1 or #2 in accident cases. The fire cases are less then 1/10th or even 1/100th of 1%. The chances of it catching fire is equal to that of any other car or next to none.

Quote: "An evolution of the "SN95" introduced in 1993, the 2002 Mustang coupe passed National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) tests with a top five-star rating for front driver and passenger safety, and three stars in side front and side rear collisions. The 2002 Mustang convertible was also tested, earning a two-star in side front and three-star in side rear impacts."

it seemed to have passed government testing *shrug*

BON is pretty much regarded as a tabloid on the mustang/camaro forums i've went to.

Isn't that 944 of yours about a $2,000 car Mr. Wallstreet?

And what kind of poser brags about having a loan approved? With the current interest rates, all you'd need is a heartbeat to qualify nowadays.

arent the fox body mustangs also dangerous as hell? if u get in a wreck wouldn't want to be you.
Any unibody car like your, ooh luxurious (to you maybe) Accord V6....will crumble like tin foil in a crash.

Get that 911 TT first, and then act like a bigshot.

Yeah, they're cheap. Not everybody has the $$$ to throw around.
And he's one of these people because to talk the way he is, you'd think he'd at least have a $100,000 car in his garage that's paid for (and not financed). A Porche 944 is about a $2000-3000 car and if someone pays more for one, they're an idiot. They're not known for reliability and spare parts are a nightmare. And you get a whopping 150hp on a heavyass car that does 0-60 in about 9-10 seconds.

PoRsChEfAnaTiC my ass. More like a wannabee.
