hey, I don't like Hyundais. I said it. It's my opinion. the depreciation value of hyundais and kias are so bad its unbelievable. Everyone around here calls them throw away cars. If the car had some value into it I might consider it. and, if the aftermarket parts for the tiburon are so good then why doesn't california peope support them as much?

actually, I already know what kinda car i'm gonna have. california didn't decide that. but the majority of the tuners/parts shops are their so what the people in california buy and make popular, and what the california tuners and their race cars make popular, then that's what I get over here in MA.

If you can swap a 93,000HP into a Honda then I wouldn't call it shit either. Honda's are also SLOW and some of them are quite ugly at that too. Also note, I haven't seen any Hyundais sporting APC winshield stickers but I've seen a shitload of Hondas. Idiots like you make all of us Honda owners look bad. Also the new Tiburon looks quite nice, underpowered but still looks nice.

IMO, kia still sucks, but hyundai has changed. their reliability has been proven to be good as japanese imports now.

Mods: iceman cold air. dc sports ceramic header, venom 400 control module, b+m regulator and pressure gauge, advanced timing, port matched intake and exhaust ports, ported and polished gsr manifold, clutchmasters aluminum flywheel and stage 3 clutch,
first of all no hyundai dollar for dollar compares with a civic, i have a friend that has a 99 tiburon and it already feels tired. i had an 89 excel and it was a piece of shit. a also had a colt of the same year. a lot of the same parts but craftsmanship in the excel was way down. and for the money the new tiburon doesnt offer much of an incentive to buy because even a base model civic with the difference in price added to performance should be faster and hold its resale value better. also if they were so good why were Toyota and honda rated better for quality and resale value. hell even gm is rated better than hyundai. go figure. i actually believe the sunfire / cavalier is better than the tiburon for the money . and gm is starting to offer performance parts for these cars and their powerful ecotec engines. note i said powerful. 150 hp without vtec is not bad and is more than the non vtec preludes of the same displacement. but hyundais 180 hp v6 is a joke . and as for the puertoricans or whatever running a stock bottom end 1.5 liter hyundai in the nines .. bullshit. you can destroy these engines with a single misshift. they would have to have a built bottom end and stronger head bolts. not to mention a seriously reworked suspension and lsd to achieve this.
