that's cuz she recognizes you to be a great customer/friend. and to be honest as well when you have a regular coming in all the time the status changes from just 'customer' to someone you actually kind of have a friendly relationship with. you get to know each other.
funny side note story: i met my bf cuz he was a regular of mine @ coyote ugly! would come in every night i was working

lol well like i said in my previous post, you develop a relationship with your customers. you become friends. me and him and his friends (guys and girls) just started hanging out and it just happen to become more. no stalker story for j00, sorry lol
in a way, that is the ideal set up. you work hard, you get paid more. of course, it's on a much much smaller scale than what is ideal though. but that's why i would never want to work for anyone because i don't want to be a slave to a meaningless work-life. i want to be paid what i'm worth....which is why i own my own companies. i work hard, i get paid more. plain and simple. if i don't work hard, i don't get paid (as much). i also have a very strong work ethic. i just want to get things done. it's a bonus that i get paid more for the projects i do on top of my salary plus commissions as an owner
why would you want to give someone a few dollars extra just because they do their job well? I mean, they already get a paycheck. I'm not trying to say don't tip anyone, I just want to know your reason behind it so cool off. take for instance a waiter, he does a good job serving you, granted. but that is his JOB, he gets a paycheck just like you and me. what reason do I have to give him the money I sweated and sacrificed to get? maybe I'm just paranoid now cause I had some financial classes this morning about saving money ~.^

is this a serious question? go wait tables for a week and you'll see why. you do realize that most servors get zero dollar paychecks right? i waited tables for 3 years and we live solely on the tips you give us. the average pay is about 2.38 dollars an hour. So when you cheap out and can't even leave 15% it hits them hard. seriously go wait tables for a week and you'll never even ask that question again. you're paying for the "service". if you don't want to tip go to burger king where you don't get any service at all.
look at it this way. if you don't want to tip, go cook your own food at your house and get your own drink. just don't ever go eat out again.

so true. sounds like me and my ex. we dated for 3 years and met at a restaurant. i'm a firm believer that everybody should wait tables some time in their youth. it'll teach you people skills and how do deal with any kind of social situation. You'll also appreciate what's like to actually work for your money and not be one of those cheapasses who goes to an upscale casual restaurant with 25 of your friends and run up a 500 dollar bill just to leave the person who did all the work for you a 7 dollar tip. so many people think they are "giving away free money" to their server. but no you're paying for the quality of service. i always tip between 18-20% no matter where i go unless the service was horrible.

I tip based on service. No they don't need to start up a conversation and ask about my daily life style and stuff like that. No they don't need to make me laugh or try to be my friend. Just as long as they bring me my food and acknowledge me as a customer that is good enough.
Having a "bad day" thing don't fly with me. Having a bad day does not mean that you can take it out on the customer. If you have a bad day fine but don't be pissed about it when you are serving me. A smile goes a long way even if it is a fake one.

true but think about all the dipshits that come in and think that because you are a server they can't say/do anything to you they want. why would you fuck with the hand that brings you your food?

I use to work in a resturant and dealing with tough customers really puts a strain on you. Making min wage blows, so I know what it feels like. If they give me good service I'll give them good tip. Simple as that.
