Anybody seen it yet? My friend lent me her DVD set. I guess there's 23 episodes. Other then that I don't know much about it.

After I get a couple episodes under my belt, I'll let you folks know what I think.

I've been re-watching Hunter x Hunter so I haven't gotten back to it. But I'm almost done (I'm up to the part where the Spider a-holes are just about to steal the entire auction contents.).

Theres two young girls on the cover which is always a plus LOL! I think the full title is "Fake: Slay Nights" or something like that.

I've been watching Hunter X Hunter over also, as well as Hajime No Ippo. I'm almost done watching Hunter X Hunter. I at the episode where they are going to be fighting Bomber.

Got through the 1st 1.5 episodes. It almost feels like a mish-mash of other generic anime themes thrown together. Some common storylines:

1. Orphaned teenaged son who lives alone on a substantial estate left to him by his stepfather...
2. He's practiced martial arts in the family dojo ever since he was an ultra small kiddie...
3. Orphan has a secret magical power he keeps hidden from those around him...
4. Cute women/girls fall all over themselves to take care of him...
5. Secretive girl classmate. Cold and beautiful, yet she hides a mysterious past...
6. Slightly effeminate best friend. Longish bangs & glasses. (think of a younger version of Ryosuke from Initial D w/ glasses LOL~!)


The animation quality is pretty good. Not cutting edge or revolutionary as a: Samurai 7 or GITS. But I think it is of better quality then Naruto or Inu Yasha. Reminds me of something Studio Gonzo might churn out.

If you are a fan of shows like Rayearth, Sakura Taisen, X, etc. etc. then I think you might like this show. But I'll give a better review after I've checked out a few more episodes. Admittedly I've barely scratched the surface of this one.

I've got through the first 4 episodes now...

You find out that there's a secret contest held every 10 years where the entrants battle over a magical item that provides the winner w/ chance to make their wish come true.

Of course the main character is drawn into this battle. Each participant has a magical familiar or servant to help them battle. The one that shows up for him is a beautiful blonde girl named "Sabre".

So far it's OK.

Fate Stay-night, thats what it was called when i downloaded it, its pretty good. gets a lot crazier as you go on.

I think I'm around episode 7 now. A couple more sterotypical anime theme have arisen:

1. Unknown latent paranormal abilities released by the protagonist when he's under the stress of mortal danger.
2. Bleeding heart do-gooder. Wants to save the world w/o breaking any eggs.
3. The quite shy girl is always the homemaker type. Sakura = cooker.
