New car, more money spent.

Hello anyone and everyone that reads this thread.
I would like to say my names joey. I have bought a 98 civic lx not to long ago. And me and my buddy were already workin on his 95 dx.. So I'm catching up to him.. Couple of questions

I really really would love to drop a b16 dohc vtec in my car but prices are crazy...
Would rather buy a toy car to mess around with since this one is my main one.

Well to start. I have put aftermarket intake, coilovers. I still need to put my headers on my car. But I really want to drop a turbo on her...
I heard from the guy at my local performance store that, you could get a fmu or just new fuel injectors... But I still don't know how it all works out. Cuz I see turbos attached to intercoolers... Then there's a waste gate?

Can someone really just explain to me what you gotta do... I don't wanna blow a piston out my engine block lol...
