Malcolm X depicts one of the most renowned civil rights activist in the 50s and 60s...One of Spike Lee's best accomplishments and definitely the best Denzel Washington performances to date (like he isn't money anyway)...but just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone has checked this out...

Although not a fan of the islam movement, I was impressed however, at the basic things they preached, esp. when malcolm was talking about black males to take care of their families, being respectable, holding down jobs - these core values that seem to be lost in our young ones today...you still have lots of kids out there w/o daddies - i don't think there's anyone out there today that has a voice out there for the young...
I've been interested in these prominent political figures as of late...wanna check out motorcycle diaries...
i saw the movie, a long time ago i thought it was one of his best performances, i liked the part where he points his fingers in a direction and the whole crowd went
the movie was great...but the book is even greater, puts into perspective a whole lot that the movies misses on...it was not as easy as the movie protrayed it for Malcolm's accomplishments.
All I have to say is that the man revolutionized the way we think, act, and see one another in this world....who knows what other things might have come if he hadnt been assacinated by the establishment which he made a great force in the world.
It is an amazing movie. I saw it in theaters when it was first released years ago. I can remember crying in the scene in which he was murdered. He had endured so much and he continued to change his life. I began to root for him internally because he was such a strong and powerful man. But then he was killed in an instant and everything he was had ended.
This movie is definitely one of my all time favorites. I really think everyone should see it.
