1995 Accord V6 2.7 - Exhaust Smoke. High miles. I had the compression checked and all cylinders were 165. I was told not a blown head gasket. It is light white smoke that really doesn't smell like oil though or antifreeze. If the car sits for a day or two without driving it is really bad then it clears up to almost no smoke, but if it is driven daily then it is still a little bit and clears up even more at high rpm. I have been told everything from rings to valve stem seals. Anybody have any suggestions or anything I can look at before I decide to tear into it? It is also leaking at the bottom of the timing belt cover as I will probably do that over the weekend..All is appreciated
well it is not a blown head gasket..So my next thought leads me to the valve stem seals or worn rings...If they rings were worn though would the compression below? It is 165 on all cylinders? How tough is replacing the valve stem seals? Or could I have good compression just getting blow by on the oil ring?
No that is the weird part. It is quite as can be. No noise what so ever. Even at high rpm's while revving it up in P. used 2.7 engines are hard to find that are under $1000. What do you know about the C27A1 2.7 that came in the acura legend will those work? I have heard they will with changing the exhaust manifolds...
but then doing rings and valve stem seals would cost about the same as a used engine.
