1998 exl EGR
Hi all,pardon my noobness,i hope this is the proper place for this,I have a 98 accord v6 exl,109km,my thing is, recently my cel light came on,I took it in to have it diagnosed, and was told i require an egr valve insert kit,$415cdn+tx,Apparently thry bore out some valve and put in some kind of insert to prevent carbon clog,is this true?I just want to be sure im not being taken for a ride,I can get a new oem egr valve for $100,but the honda guy swore up and down,that if i didnt get this kit,my cel light will come back constantly,anyone have any insight to this? The car is in immaculate shape,and i want to keep it that way. One more thing,all my prior hondas required timing belt changes at 100km,but my owners manual says 168km? please help me,thanks,Gus
