2.7 to 3.0 swap

I have a 1997 accord 2.7 v6 auto. How difficult would it be to drop a 3.0 vtec into it? Sorry if this thread already exists, the search doesnt work.

Someone else had a thread like this. I'm pretty sure there were some minor modifications needed, but the motor mounts were the same(J series).

Aside from the engine dropping in right your going to need to change/modify your ECU so it will actually use the VTEC. I don't know much about setting up VTEC, though I do know if you have a non VTEC ECU you'll never get VTEC to engauge.

You really must not know 5th gens, They never had J, it was c27a and the only solution is to heavily rewire the car and do a tranny swap. Please do not comment if you don't know what is going on

Any motor swap will typically involve ecu change and you don't modify an ecu to use vtec, you change wiring and make sure sensors are hooked up

wrong again, you could if you don't have a vtec ecu you could always get a vtec controller but it is a crap way to do things.

You don't have to be such an ass cause I got something wrong. I got a letter messed up, shoot me.

I said CHANGE / modify which implies CHANGE before modify.

If you can fit a J30 into a CRX with out modifying the firewall, then you can fit J30 into just about every car out there.

and yes, it has been done to a CRX.
