98 AV6 tranny problems again!

i just recently replaced my transmission on my AV6 about 2k miles ago but still have problems with it. the transmission shifts real hard from 1st to 2nd when the engine is cold. feels like a manual trans with high performance clutch when shifting. after the engine warms up the tranny shifts normal. i flushed the trans fluid twice already but still shifts hard. help please!!!!!!!

Did it shift fine for the past 2k miles? Did you buy the transmission and change it yourself? Since the transmission shifts fine after the car warms up, it sounds like hydraulic failure, which is typical for automatics on that generation of Accord. If you just bought a used transmission, I'm willing to bet that you bought a fucked up one. AV6 transmissions rarely seem to last longer than 60k.

i bought the tranny with only 75k miles at a junk yard. i swapped the tranny myself which took 2 days to complete. everything went very smoothly. i drove the car around for 2k miles with the problem hoping it would just go away! i checked and rechecked everything but cant seem to figure out the problem. taking the car out to honda is the last resort! i get a CEL(P0715 auto trans malfunction)! i hope someone experienced the same problem on here and might could share some info on how to fix the prob. the still have the old tranny and is thinking about swapping all of the solenoids over to the new one. please help!!!!! thanks!!!!

well that model transmission has always been messedup. Acura has already done a recall on there TL's with the same tranny. Eventually honda will do the same on 6th gen. accords. Check other message boards that have more info on certain recalls and hope they give one to you.

the honda accord v6 tranny recall only covered from 1999-2001 models. i already checked to see if mines were covered but unfortunately it was not! i changed the transmission fluid twice already with genuine honda atf fluid(this stuff isnt cheap). i even flushed the tranny and the torque converter out with 3 quarts of the atf fluid and still have the same problem. could the problem be the shift solenoids? thanks guys!!!!

Since the problem goes away as it warms up it's more likely a sticking piston in one of the valve bodies. If it was mine I'd just let it warm up a bit before driving it.
