Anyone have a step by step instructions for 2003 Accord V6 AEM Intake install?
Does anyone have or know of where I can look to find a step by step installation guide for the 7th gen V6 coupe? I'm trying to install an AEM CAI on my own for the first time and use any help. Pics would be great too. THanks!
instructions actually come with the intake. they're very detailed and have pictures for step by step installation.
I took it to a carshop b/c the bypass valve install required cutting. Word of caution however, our local car shop has experienced problems with the intake fallin apart at the bypass valve b/c the bp valve breaks (due to the heavy vibrations as you drive).
What they've done now is instead of cutting the intake in 2 pieces, they cut giant holes in the portion where the bp valve goes so that if water goes up, the valve can still suck it up but the intake retains some of its integrity.
Just a thought for those of you who are getting an intake. The total install for the intake plus the cutting was $55 at a reputable car shop here in houston (Carboy).
It's worth it as the install would've taken my dumbass 2-3 hours. $55 is definitely worth 2-3 hours of my time....
Besides, I have an HID kit, so no headlight bulbs needed, hehe..
As for the intake, I think it's good, but nothing spectacular. I won't be ripping up Z's and G35's anytime soon, but the car's got noticeably more pull in 1st and 2nd. Downshifts at high speed feel quite a bit more powerful too, but i could just think that b/c of the roar my engine makes now. It's a nice sound at the very least...
Mods: Over Drift gauge, Slide mode EFI, Smoke controller, Zip Tie meter, Cone G-force sensor
