Igniting Engine of '98 Accord Coupe

This seems to be a problem that is starting to occur more often. Sometimes I would try and turn on my car, but the engine doesn't like turn on. I would hear the engine trying to ignite, but doesn't fully turn on.

So I take something and start tapping my starter. After a while of doing this, the car will finally turn on.

My question is, would this be a starter problem then?

well if its turning over, which what i think your trying to say, then the starter is fine. check your fuel lines.

Fuel lines should be okay. Maybe alternator?

i would double check the starter one more time; it could be dying.

see if your radio runs ok without starting the car and when your car starts do you hears a whinning sound coming from the alternator. that should give you an indication of the alternator.

it doesnt hurt to use some fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank once in while either.

Turns out the problem was some electrical wiring problem. Got it fixed, but was costly.
