Question P0401 code - what to do the second time?

I posted a while back about a p0401 code that my 98 accord v6 is pulling - I found out that at 65,000 miles (before I got the car) that the whole drilling and stint thing was done at the dealership. Now I have 122,000 miles and the code is on again.

Do I need to do the whole process over again? or can I just replace the EGR valve? I already have the Honda EGR kit with the new EGR valve, gaskets and stint.

try pulling the EGR tube and use a vcumm pump to clean it out first the tube

if its not carbon build up, it could be a few issues.

-EGR vavle
-EGR pressure sensor DPFE

Thanks for the reply-
I got EGR kit from Honda online decided to pull my intake manifold off - It doesn't look like they drilled or put a sleeve in the first time! (the reciept from the dealership says EGR pipe recall) The carbon build-up was unbelievable! I pulled about 6 tablespoons of carbon out of the EGR port and got it looking brand new - I also cleaned the EGR port leading into the engine, which was not totally clogged but still dirty. I put in the new EGR valve, gasket and throttle body gasket.

But after I reset the light it came back on a day later! It eventually turned itself off, but now it back on again! There is no way that carbon is already blocking the port and I replaced the EGR valve and gasket, so it can't be that either.

If it was the "EGR pressure sensor DPFE" would it throw a different code then p0401? and would the light come off and on every couple days?

double check all the hoses you disconnected are back in proper order and tight.

also another thing that u want to consider try pulling your 02 sensor and check it to see if the tip is being clogged by the carbon deposit thats wat it sounds like to me
