trouble starting new accord v6 2007 EXL

Hi, I bought a new Accord 2007 model, in Jan 08. Everything seems to work ok in terms of driving on the road. However, it seems to take longer than expected to start the engine, once I turn the ignition. I used to have a Toyota Corolla '95 - and although it was an old, beat up car, it started right away everytime. I'm surprised that my new Accord would take so long to start up. Sometimes I have to hold the ignition for more than a couple seconds, and the engine doesn't start, so I have to try again, and then it starts up on the second try.

I'm wondering if v6's are supposed to take longer to start than a simple Corolla would take, and if I have to just get used to holding the key for longer in the ignition mode before letting go? I took it to the honda dealership, and they said it starts "within Honda specifications of 1-11 seconds", so there's nothing wrong with it. I'm not sure if I should get a second opinion, or just learn to live with this until something goes wrong with the car and/or it doesn't start. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I have an 07 V6 Coupe. It starts right up. Does it do the same with both of your keys?

Yes, I tried both keys and it still has the same behavior. When you say it "starts right up", do you hold the key until you hear the engine engage before letting go, or do you just turn it once and let go without even thinking about it?

Thanks,
David

I would say if its not starting after holding the key in the start position for 5 seconds or longer than there is something not right hahaha
