Question $2,600 for turbo kit w/intercooler and boost controller.SHOULD I BUY IT? HELP

One of my friends has a civic si that he has put a turbo on , he has had it for about a year and a half. His motor recently blew up, he is offering to sell me his turbonetics turbo kit , intercooler and boost controller for $2600. My car is pretty much stock right now with just some average bolt ons. Do you think that is a fair price? Do you think my motor will have problems if I don't boost as much as he did? He was boostin like 12 pounds , but his motor was built.

Thanks

ooo, I think you should build it up a bit for 12 PSI. Maybe some Crower goodies will do it. I'm already pre-researching that stuff for when I get the Greddy H22 turbo kit (someday ). So that's not from experience, but from what I've heard from others that have boosted their motors.

Just a side thought... if he blew his engine with that turbo, aren't you a little worried it might do the same to yours? just wondering.

I was asking if I were to boost less than him , if I should worry . Not 12 pounds, ha ha , hell no. Maybe like 6 or so? What do you think?
