89 hatch si swap problems....

ok i just droped a d15b jdm vtec into my 89 hatch si and its got 55k miles on the engine and its blows lotsa black smoke that smells like gas could this be becuz ive still to the stock 89 hatch si ecu in it? or did i just get fucked and bought a bunk d15b jdm vtec?

and you never thougth to get a vtec ecu for a vtec motor?

u basically just made teh wrong ammount of gas, air , timing and everythgin else go to yoru new engine...hence why it was blowing smoke...u need to get a p28 and chip it for a modified program for that engine

haha

lol yea i have a p28 ecu but its for an automatic and i have a manule, so if i put the p28 in it it should run right right?
