Hey guys,
I currently have an 04' RSX Type S. Probably tomorrow im going to look and at and most likely buy a 2000 Civic Si. I'm basically doing it for financial purposes. The Si has 68,000 miles on it and its a dealership. I'm just wondering what you guys/gals think would be a good point try to talk them down too. They are currently asking 12,995 which isnt ridiculous, its actually right in the ball park of where they should be, but obviously i'm going to try to talk them down. The car comes with 17" wheels, suspension system (adjustable height) and a cold air intake. Just wondering what everyone thinks and what they would pay for that. Thanks for the advice in advance.
Mods: Lowered, vision corners, short shifter - that's it right now - i got it in a trade for my ef9 si. it's the same as when i got it.
tell them you don't like the aftermarket parts for fear that they might be unreliable. it's a crock of shit, but if you are seriously interested then they might drop a couple hundred

I figure if they really wanna sell the car, then they can meet me half way so. Im in a good position where i dont NEED to buy a car i just wanna make my payment go down. So if they cant help me out by giving me a good price and a good amount for my trade then i'll just walk away.

that's the biggest leverage you can have, not needing the car. go in there you like you really don't care if you buy it or not - i think they'll work with you. good luck with it. trading one hot car for another - sorry to hear you have to get rid of the rsxS though.

kbb value im showing is like 80 bux less than what their asking...
so you're trading an '04 rsx-s in for a 2000 civic si?
rsx-s w 40,000 miles and excellent condition :
retail -$20,500
private sell:$17,500
trade-in: 14,750
so the way i see it, they should pay you about 2500 for your car

My car right now has 17,800 miles on it. About a month ago i had acura give me a price that they would buy it back at, and they said 18,500. So i figure that i'm in pretty good shape. I'm gunna ask 18k for the trade, and then hopefully try to work something with the Si. Hopefully we can make a deal out and get me this car if not, i'll just keep looking.
you should be able to talk them down, jsut show them the kbb and stuff like that, tell them you dont like the mods and that you want them to lower the price if they really want to get rid of the car they will let it go

Yeah thats what i figure. The guy says he's stuck on 12,995 but thats what every salesman says and then you get down there and so excitement for the car and he just wants to sell it to you so. Hopefully by this time tomorrow i'll be the proud owner of an Si even though i have to say bye to my RSX-S :noo
