Bad Gas Mileage in my 99 si!
When I first picked up the car with 120k on the clock it was getting in the 30s on the highway. Now I average around 23mpg on a full tank. Half highway/Half city. I've picked up new NGK plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Also put in a new fuel filter and a new converter with an apex-i ws2 exhaust. No change at all in mileage. What else is there to look for?????

if you put bolt-ons like i/h/e on the car you will get worse gas mileage during accelleration. but the same if not slightly better than stock during highway cruising.

Only mod so far is the apex ws that I just installed. Other than that its bone stock. Seems like I got worse mileage now that the exhaust is on.

because you're pressing down more on the gas since you like the sound of your exhaust ;-)

30 on the highway, and 23 average is talking apples to oranges. Do you calculate mileage, and always fillup when you get gas writing down the #s etc?

Tire pressure, alignment, and overall driving style also plays a key role.

Basically slow down! We had a 99 SI for a few years and had terrible mileage above 70 mph on the highway but OK mileage below that. No mods were done.

It's that damn b16 tranny. I'll be needing my si for highway driving for my new job, and it sucks on the highway, sucking gas at 4.5k rpm at 80mph.
I was thinking about swapping the LS tranny in since it has longer gears.
But just gas mileage, clean your intake filter. And like redpanda said, check your tire pressure and alignment
