car ticks when tryin to start

alright guys we had a light snow and alot of ice last night and when i went to start my car today i tried to turn it on and all i hear is a quick ticking sound and it wolnt turn over do you guys have any idea whats wrong??

I agree that is the noise of a starter solenoid trying to engage but not being able to due to low current from a bad battery.
