Does yoru A/C Suck?

Is it just my car, or does your a/c unit take forever too get cold and isn't even really cold at all? Maybe it's because it's a civic, but i just want to make sure it's not just me.

I must agree, I think my AC blows. My girls VW beetle's AC is frezzing cold. Mine is just like the AC isn't on and it's blowing regular cold air from the fan.

Peace

dang i have that same problem. only i do not have a 00 si i have a 95 civic si hatchback. i thought it was only my car and that it was out of freeon or something because it doesn't really blow that cold at all and it takes it like fifteen to twenty minutes to start blowing kind of cold air. i am going take it to my friends shop tomorrow and then he is going to check out the system and see what is going on with it. do you guys think that it is just like that because he is going to put some stuff in it to see if it is leaking and that shit costs like seventy five dollars. then i also have to pay for the replacment freeon.

I get cold air when I am driving and it is set to the first or second fan setting. But when I am stopped at a red light the air gets warm again. I hate using a/c. It robs so much power from the car.

I just thought of this....

If you have an aftermarket light flywheel and you have the a/c on, can the car bog down even more? Will the car stall out?

I am glad I am not the only one! My a/c sucks big time, like you guys said it dsoesnt blow hard and it doesnt get very cold. My womans Mitsu's a/c is freezing! I also agree that the lesser fan setting i.e. 1 or 2 the colder the air is. I was thinking of getting a recharge but it seems that wouldnt help cause its working fine its just that it sucks! I hardly use it anyways cause it robs way too much power!

O.K., I'll be the odd man out here. Mine works just fine. I wouldn't say it'll freeze you out, but I'm usually cruising with the fan in the #1 position and rarely use the recirc. If your car is still under warranty, take it in. Otherwise, get one of those free A/C checkups (look in the Sunday paper) at a local shop.

Do you guys turn ur recycle button on? That makes a small difference... My car is fine, but civic a/c's are weak. It takes an hour for the car to finally get cooled. and by the time ur satisfied you get to your destination.
