tech wrench DOing my brakes...WOOT WOOT

I just got ceramic pads, I thought I'd try something different. I was going to go with AXXIS pads but when I spoke to the tech at Beck Arnley he told me that they were just OEM meteral I started looking for something else. I called the 'Stealership' and they quoted me $71.00 for OEM, I was shocked. So I did some digging and found Bendix Ceramic Pads CT.3's for $35.00. and some Bendix rotors for 34.28ea (almost the same quality as Brembo) I can't wait I have been sitting on this set of Erls lines for about 3 months waiting to install every thing at once. Maybe I'll write my first 'how to' install for the NEWbees.

I don't know how many of you use ceramic pads I did some searching and found 0 post on the subject. I might even do a review.

What was your total for front pads/rotors and rear pads/rotors and also the lines. I was thinking about doing this during the spring/summer cause I already cut the rotors 1 or twice on the front and rear and I doubt they will be able to turn them again.

Peace and make sure you post a review with pics and try to do an install document on them...lol. I will make you do all the leg work!!!!!

Well because I didn't skimp out on quality here is the price/parts list (before my discount 20%):
2000 Si 2DR Coupe:

Front rotors - Bendix# 141471 $34.28ea X 2
Front pads - Bendix# D465ACT $42.48 (not listed in catalog)
Earls Lines # 28L240 $94.00 (for the set)
Rear rotors - Bendix# 145060 $43.88ea X 2

Rear pads - Well I have to call Bendix in the AM and find out if they make a ceramic rear pad for the Si if not then I will get some Beck Arnly Axxis pads Those will run me about $34.00, Raybestos makes a ceramic pads for $44.99 # PGD374QS

But so far it cost me $207.84 and that doesn't include the misc stuff.

I needed some tools also,
Flare wrench set $ 9.99
Break cleaner 1.69 X 8 (can't have enough of this stuff 2 for 1)
18 pack Icehouse $10.99 (no I didn't get drunk and install my brakes):eek

SO far I like the feel of the system I cant wait to get the rears (Pads and rotors) done. I have all of the lines in (Wow what a difference). I have to wait until I find out if Bendix makes the pads I want or else I will settle for either Axxis or Raybestos
I still need to break them in for the next few hundred miles before I can really stand on them. I can't wait.

Thumbs up

Well I got 200 miles on the set up and I can't say enough about it. The pedal feels so much firmer, and the vibration is gone. And the best part is they are super quiet so far.

I think I might take my old rotors to my buddys shop and have him spinn them on the lathe just for back ups just to see how warped they were.

I decided to go with some KVR pads. I was talking with a guy that has them on his car and they seem to work pretty good. I'll let everyone know how it goes when I install them and how good they are.
