Duply color.....anyone??? - Honda Forum / Acura Forum

Four winters in New England and 43k miles after, my front lip and parts of the hood have become scratched and or pitted.....

I just noticed on page 193 on SCC June 2002 issue, an add for Duply Color ......has anyone used them or similar products.....???

I've used Duplicolor Gun Metal for my headlights.

like I posted on top, is a CO called Krylon that makes spray paint in a can that matches the color of your car........SCC page 193....check it out.....

not bad but I have to tell you what happened.....I was washing my car with this high pressure hose and took some paint from the bottom lip....the stupid f...ck that I am instead of reaching down to get a bug stuck to the paint I decided to "wash" it....well to my surprise it took the bug and the surrounding paint with it....focken bugs....but I painted it and you can't tell unless you are looking for it...it was a small can of regular red paint and I was lucky it matched....now these people offer it with the actual name of the color......example Milano Red #......so i think the paint may match even more....stay away from pressure "rinse".....live and learn....dumb fuck that I am....

Same thing happened to me once when I had my stock bumper. I was washing it at a car wash ( i was lazy) and when i was spraying the front lip a chunk of paint went flying off. I was pretty pissed. never used that care wash again. it was probably my own fault spraying too close or something, but still....

Thanks ..i found a can in the local Autozone.....more to come on thursday.....but I'll keep it on hand waiting for better weather....damn New England.....

Let us know how that works out, particularly:

color match
flow (does it use the good tip with fan-pattern spray or the cheap white pushbutton)
finish (did you wet-sand, does it need it? Did you clearcoat over it?)

hand-washing is WAYYY better then taking it to a car wash and wasting your money. Im sure you all realize that though. But one time i took my friends wifes 95 neon to one of those places, and took all the paint of the trunk lid!! He took it to the dealership, with the warrantee LONG gone and they STILL repainted it. Must have been a recall somewhere along the way or something.

hehehe....when I see my ex wife I'll make sure to tell her that she should at least should have let me use the drive way of what use to be my house....

......I own a condominium now and I'm not allowed by agreement to do any work on vehicles.....besides I was at the car wash, washing the car by hand......it was the high pressure rinse and my laziness that screwed up my ride......thanks anyway you made my day by putting a smile on my face......man I love this place......
