Well as you can tell by my sig i have the JDM B16 SiR II Swap in my 93 civic coupe.
My transmission is getting rebuilt due to one of the springs in the clutch deciding to leave the plate and visit the flywheel to send metal throughout and ruining some gears and synchros! Anyways...i dont due trans. work so i took it to my trans shop and got it built up with aftermarket gsr gears/sliders/snychros, etc. (something a little longer than my old gears but oh well) and new clutch, cut and surfaced flywheel. Everything fuckin fit but the damn outer bearings of the gears. No GSR, Si, DelSol, or JDM bearing fit. Called up Honda Corporate and told them the situation and said to read the code off of my trans. (which wasnt stamped on...just a sticker) which started with Y2, and not YS like every other trans. They said it had to be wrong and they had the shop count the # of bearings and they said it was impossible. I just thought the JDM civic motor would be able to comply....HERE the kicker is that they found my code about an hour later and discovered it was from a 94-95 Del Sol SiR that the trans was only produced for those 2 years. So some overnight parts flown from Japan and over $200 in shipping later...maybe these bearings will work. Interesting story.

Damn Honda transmissions are so expensive. How did the spring go from the clutch/flywheel housing to the gear housing?
They are expensive...fully built aftermarket: $2800.
I dunno how but 1 of the 4 springs broke off of the clutch and got not into the gear housing, but between the clutch and flywheel itself and grinded down the flywheel goooood. oh yeah shit was fucked up.
now i got all aftermarket internals. basically bullet-proof internals. everything.

I like it when guys like you do it right instead of cutting corners to save a few bucks. Well done. Keep us posted on the progress and your opinions of the products you used.
