Hey, im new here and i have a really hard choice to make..well for me its hard....i no its a honda forum but im buying a new car soon and i was looking at both the SI and the TC right now im leaning more towards the SI but the price is a little high so im not sure yet... what do u guys think about the TC?
I havn't owned a TC or really drove one more that a mile, I like the way it looks, and apparently they can hold some good boost stock, so I dunno... The si will be probably everything you expect, But im not sure what your looking for.... There both great cars, they'll last the same amount of time as long as you take care of them like they should... I'm not to impressed by the new si, yes they have good numbers on papers, but for the price you pay, you could easily have 300 whp civic.... So that's either way, but i'd probably try test driving both and see what you like better, what fits your needs... If i were to get one it'd probably be a 4 door si, because I could use the 2 extra doors and it would be fun auto-x with peeps in the back haha. But drive both and you make the choice!!

Going fast in corners is funner than going straight
you said the the si is a little pricey, well scion operates on that no haggle bullshit and they don't come down on there prices (well they didn't when my wife was looking) assuming that you are looking to buy new. and you can get a new si for around 22k and if you are willing to make them sweet you can probably pull of a si 4dr for around 21k otd. and what does a comparable (as far as rims and interior goodies) scion cost 18k or so after ttl you are looking about about 20k anyway so you might as well get an si if that is what you like better, and the cost is the only thing bothering you
edit i just built a scion with only a spoiler and keyless entry and it was 18.6k after ttl that is about 21055 or the price of an si

The only TC I ever rode in for any length of time was no doubt a nice car. Although I didn't really care for the interior, but whatever. The only thing I noticed compared to other cars was it's lack of shall I say.......nuts. It just seemed like a rather gutlass car. I know my GSR was faster than his TC, but still I really like the look of the car. It has a lot of potential for being built up and modified I think.
With that I am sure the Si has tons of potential too, but I have never had a ride in or drivin a new civic or Si, or for that matter any newer Honda. I want to, but I never have. Shit, next time I have my car in for service at the Acura dealer or something I should ask them for a test drive in teh DC5, to see what a K20 can do.
I'd take the newer Si. Also they are in slightly different classes. The TC will no doubt be a bit more luxurious than the Si, and also that much slower

The TC is Garbage the interior falls apart after a year or so the engine has no power it has limited style due to the lack of toyota's sport compact dept. it revs out when the SI just gets to life and overall it's the lowest of the low toyota has to offer , but if your buying a price or payment it's a great car but if you want the real deal go with an 07-08 si and enjoy what honda has to offer
