I'm thinking about buying some headers for my 1999 SI, but I really want Apex GTS headers which run about $499, but I don't really want to pay the price for them, and I found some Chrome 4-2-1 DC sport headers for only $125 on Ebay, would this be a good alternative for my buck.
Also, I don't really want to shell out a lot of cash for my suspension at this time, but I still don't want that stock look. I found some Gold-Line racing springs that said it would drop an SI 2.5 inches, have any of you used these or know of anyone who has, and what do you feel about them, handling wise, or what would you recommend?
I'm seriously not trying to flame or anything but you would buy "a header" not "some headers". IMO, i would go with DC. i've always really good results with DC. i would also rather have ceramic coated then chrome, but that's just a matter of opinion.
if you just want springs, i would go Eibach. they'll only set you back about $200 or so. You could get Ground Control coilovers for about $100 more. They use Eibach springs too. I would also recommend Tein springs. A buddy of mine runs those and he swears by them....

DC doesn't make a "chrome" header they make a stainless one. For $125 on ebay you could be getting an imitation piece of garbage. The description probably says "DC style Header" or something like that.
The real DC header is a very good header. Just put one on my car last week in fact. Normally quiet, throaty in the higher ups, relatively easy install. And it's got a CARB number
IF yo'ure not in california I've heard good things about the non-CARBed Megan header as far as cheap, new, stainless headers go. People are getting them for $150 brand new...awesome for a SS that seems to hold up pretty well
And yes if you're cheaping out on your suspension you're better off with a set of used Pro-Kits or H&R sports for ~$120 than whatever you're going to spend on those goldline hunk-a-junks. Check the classifieds. If you're not upgrading your shocks at the same time you do NOT want to go below a 2" drop. I wouldn't drop it more than 1.75" on stock shocks but some people do it successfully. Going below 2" also necessitates a camber kit which is more $$ you don't sound like you want to spend.
Incidentally if you had money I would be telling you to buy a Greddy SS header (or the Apex-i) and Tein Flex
No way are the Sportlines 1.6"
Hell the Pro-kit's going to be 1.75" easy. I'm not saying those aren't the numbers Eibach posts, but what you'll see in real life is more than that. Sportlines give a 2" drop at least. They suck.

I'll throw my $.02 in on the header design. 4-1 is great for top end.
I went 4-2-1 two piece though for midrange torque and ease of installation. You get better ground clearance with a 4-2-1 also.

but for top end power 4-1 all the way.
yes.. that is why i suggested 4-1 because the b16 is already a high revving engine. if it is an accord i would suggest the 4-2-1

True, but I have a GSR motor (8100 RPM) and I still went with the 4-2-1
It's all a matter of preference and truthfully I don't know if it makes too big of a difference either way.
both a 4-1 and a 4-2-1 will flow better throughout the range than stock, and the difference between the two at WOT can't be more than a couple horses.
I just want to present both cases but in the end whatever you can find for cheap is the way to go.
I'll look into that Ebay ad, but I don't want to sound like I'm looking for a cheap way out of doing things, it's just I want so much stuff, but I just can't wait... I started out slow and buying expensive stuff, like the Apex N1, AEM CAI, SKUNK2 DUAL BEND Short Shifter, but I'm just getting impatient, and I can only hook up my ride as fast as I can make the cash, but still I have to divide it among the wife and kid, and mortgage.
Well, thank you everyone for your input and I'm gonna use some of you alls advice and look into some of the other products mentioned...
Thanks Again

before u ask for the kind of header u want, ask urself where do u want ur powerband to work best for ya?? Low end?? Mid end?? Front end?? dont get too general cuz i think it good if u're being soo picky over performance. but if u doesn't care and just go with wat people tell ya.. i learn it the hard way.
