Nitrous for my Si

There is a gu at my job that wants to sell me his ZEX nitrous kit for $350. He said it is adjustable from 50-75 shot. I never really cared much for NOS, just cause I thought it could screw up your motor. Now I realizes what a bargain it is to get so much power for suck little work and money.

Do you think the stock internals are good enough to take the NOS? Also I would appreciate your input on the pro's and con's of juicing the car. Oh yeah and what kind of 1/4 mile times do you think I can expect with NOS, CAI, and Headers.

Your car could run a 55 shot all day long without as much as a burp or hiccup from the engine. You might be able to pull a very high 14 even with just the 55 shot not sure on that though. The 75 shot would get you in the 14 easy though but you'll have to retard your timing about 4 degrees to do it so off the squeze you'll have slow throttle response and general lazy feeling from the engine. With the 55 shot your can leave it set at the timing at the stock setting. The down side is filling the bottle. And that's about it. I have a ZEX kit for a while I used one bottle. Had no problems what so ever and it was very fast. I never got around to filling the bottle again though. I sold the kit and bought a Greddy turbo kit instead and boost is much better IMO. Peace!

I don't have much knowledge of N20, but from what I hear, you can run a small shot, without doing damage on the b16a.

Just be sure to follow all the precautions that go along with running N20. Visit the Nitrious forum, and research it before you do anything.

i wasted 3 bottles in 3 weeks when i first installed my zex kit. its only set at a 55 shot but you can still feel the difference. like the others said, a 55 shot is not going to do anything to the b16, it can handle it- and if you're worried about believing the people who dont have the setup, believe me, my engines still running perfectly and this is after 3 bottles dumped...ive slacked off in using it since then only because its a 45 minute drive from where i am to refill, and also recently had the pleasure of being turned in/reported to the local police regarding me having a bottle in the trunk/using it on the street, by someone who will remain nameless at this point in time :

i am running a 70 shot of NOS in my si. you should get it you will love it and so will your car. the only thing that i don't like about my kit is that you have to refill the bit*h. i can spend that 45$ in seconds.

running the 75 shot of zex in my 2000 si for 1 year. no problems. and 4 degrees of timing retard is too much even though zex recommends it. i run 2 degrees of retard without a single ping or sign of detonation. i'm consistently running 14.05 times at 99.xx mph without getting the 60 ft times i want. and that is on street tires.

I Heard That Your Car Can Handle The N20 But If You Use It Too Much At One Time Your Piston Rings Will Just Fuck Up And You Will Have To Replace It. But I Don't Know Much About this (As You Can see I Am A Noob)
