noise when breaking w/02 si

ok this has been happening quite often lately and its really starting to bother me more than it did. When start my car up and like drive for almost any short distance in either 1st or 2nd gear, when i go and stop and push the break and clutch in. There is a poping/click sound only on the driver side and i can feel it in the pedals. It also does it sometimes just when im driving and come to a stop. I think it is in the trany but i dont know. And its really noticable outside the car. Any thoughts?

My guess is you have a broken axle. It probably does it at all speeds but you only notice it when you're going slowly. I had the same issue on my '00 SI on the passenger side. They covered it under warranty.

nothing new, when i got my oil changed the one honda tech person said it would cost extra for them to even look at my car other than the oil. So i was like "thats ok" cause i didnt have any extra cash on me at the time.

i'm almost willing to put money on it that its your brake pads. My brother had the same problem because honda isn't willing to admit that there pads don't seat right. Your car is a 02, so buy yourself some performance pads and your problem is solved...

i was thinking it was the brakes as well. i have an 04 SI with only 8K on it and mine makes a clicking noise sometimes, not all the time. it only happens when i brake, and even then, i only hear it once i get under 15 mph or so. if it starts to happen more often, i'm taking mine in to be checked out.

oh yeah, if they told you that it costs extra just for them to check it out, they are full of shit. call Honda Corp (800) 999-1009 and complain. Warranty is supposed to pay for everything that could be considered a factory defect. this includes labor and inspection fees...

its not a break squeal. it comes from in the engine bay somewhere.

I don't know if this is the same thing, but I use to get a "click" sound when I would get out of first and I thought it was in my engine, then I was told it was my intake. Come to find out, it was behind my rims center cap, their is a bolt that needs to be tightened. Don't know if this is it, but it fixed my sound!!!!
