Yes, yes, I'm sure that sounds retarded, but I'm looking for something... well.. something.. I would figure it would be a pretty easy swap, but has anyone actually heard an NSX horn? I just think it would be tight to honk it and people go, "WTF? That's not a Civic horn!" And I would certainly hope that the NSX horn is a little beefier than mine. Plus, I can't find anywhere that would have it. You think I could get everything from Acura directly?
Hmm..
No one do this before me! (heh, yeah right.. what a dumb idea, you're saying)
A horn's a horn. What difference would it make what car it came off of? Plus I'm pretty sure that most people you'd honk at woudn't know or care that it wasn't a Civic horn.
Look, if you don't want an NSX horn in your car, you don't have to. I'm not starting a campaign to get all Civic Si's retrofitted with NSX horns. I just want one. Why do you have to hate on my dream? You're just mad you didn't think of it first. MY IDEA! MUHAHAHAHAHA..
And no, a horn isn't a horn. *I* can tell if it is a stock Civic horn or not. It sounds like a cross between a computer beep and a duck getting squashed. I want a cooler horn. Is that too much to ask? And I wouldn't expect people to stop me and be like "HOLY SHIT! YOU HAVE AN NSX HORN! IS THAT REALLY AN NSX?" and I'll say "Yes it is, I just got the Civic Si body kit. It cost me 17k" And they'll say "Wow, you must be rich, can I have your children?" And I'll say "No, bitch, they're mine!"
And, anyway, mirrors are mirrors, speakers are speakers, fenders are fenders, headers are headers, etc.

Because the stock Civic horn is lame. Very very lame. I mean, I love everything about my Si, but the horn is like your stepson who you really don't like, but you have to love because he's sorta related. So I figure if i can trade in my obnoxious, Macaully Culkin stepson for a good Harvard Grad millionaire stepson who pulls hos for me, then I would. Exactly like an NSX horn... Well...
Yeah..
Since no one is going to help, even with info about the horn unit in general, I'm going to have to pull out the manual. goddamn hippies..

i bet less than 10% of all SHO members would know anything about changing a horn...
oookay........that is a lame swap .. .no one is going to be like ..."is that an NSX horn" ... mainly because how many NSX's honk at you daily?? .. not enough to know the distinct sound on one.
Perhaps some people missed the intent of this post. I wasn't saying "Wow, what a cool idea I have, everybody tell me how much you love me." Its my car and I don't give a fuck if you like it or not. I don't give a fuck if you think it is a stupid idea or not. I didn't ask for anyone's opinion on "the swap", I asked if anyone knew how to do it, or where exactly the horn unit was in the Si/NSX.
Again, do I care if people notice when I honk on the streets? No.
God, what fuckin' douchebags...
Anyone actually have information on this, or just feel like telling me how stupid a swap it is? Send me a picture of your car and I'll pick out plenty of things I think are stupid on it.
it's just the Christmas stress everybody is feeling. right everyone? anyways the horn on your si is behind the bumper on the drivers side. you need to remove the bumper to obtain proper access to it. i would bet the nsx horn is in the same place. just unplug the wire and unbolt it. the nsx should bolt right up and plug right in. now for a difference in sound, i don't know if there is any. look in the wreaking yards for one. good luck and an idea is only stupid if you didn't think of it first. have a good one.

...no.
and listen the only reason ppl were giving you shit is because thats money that could go somewhere more needed. "because the stock horn is lame" doesn't really fly because then again "the stock suspension is lame" compared to upgraded setups. "the stock clutch is weak, the stock exhaust, headers, short shifter, etc" i dunno anything ur money could be going to. i figure something lame like the horn doesn't deserve your attention till you're like TOTALLY done with your car. but if u honk your horn THAT MUCH and it bothers u like... THAT MUCH, then yea go ahead. its your car.
I hear you, b16. I understand, and trust me, no money is going to that as it is, but I am just wondering, you know, hypothetically. If it was like 75$ i might do it now, but any more than that, I think i'd wait a while. Skunk2 intake manifold is on the way! fuck yeah!
but, btw, how much was the clutch/flywheel combo? how is the clutch drivability? you notice some power with it? how long are those clutches supposed to last?
