O2 sensor and fuel variances?
B16a's have 2 O2 sensors. One in the header and one in the Cat. If your remove your cat and replace it with a test pipe with the O2 sensor in it. What does it do to the computers fuel mapping systems, and spike perameters? I just worried if i do remove it there will be a computer code flashed. Or will make the car run either too lean or rich. Has anyone done this and know what happens?
all I know is that I hit some ice and broke my secondary O2 sensor and my car runs really slow! my suggestion is to tap a hole in your test pipe and put your O2 back into that, don't just take it out of the car. You won't be happy with that.,
Well I am running a test pipe. And I have thrown a code with it on. Then I fixed the problem. Well the problem came back several weeks ago and threw a code. I notice that when it throws the code, it must be running a little rich which is sucking up my gas and I also notice it is running a little different. I know that the other O2 Sensor in your cat reads the exhaust gases to see if you are running too rich or too lean and it adjust accordingly. I believe there is a thread on this board somewhere. I just have to find it or if you want, feel free to look.

Thanks for the info. Question though do you know what the code was that it threw? Reason is i made the pipe at work today and put the O2 sensor at the vary tail end of the pipe. It seems to be working ok for now. I do have a intake, header so hopefully that will let it run rich enuff so it dont burn rings or valves.
