My cat is shot and my exhaust manifold is cracked.

Is it ok to drive because it drives more like a golf cart instead of a go cart

How much time do I before I risk engine damage?

You need to get an exhaust manifold ASAP. Even if you get one of those inexpensive knock-off headers that are on ebay all the time.

Having that functioning correctly is more important than the cat. Depending on where the crack is, it could interfere with readings on the primary o2.

Also if cool air somehow got in, and cooled the exhaust valve to quickly, it could crack.

thanks for the reply. I thought it could be serious. I shut my car down on tues and ordered DC 421 ceramic headers and a Random Cat and wraps. Also I got a rental car, cause I m not wrecking my new B18A2.

Just curious, how can i tell if i caused any serious damage to my engine by listening to it? I have only driven it about 100 miles since i damaged exhaust.

well hopefully you didn't do any damage, but there is a chance that your valves could get damaged. but up the new stuff and list for any irregular valve ticks

What cookiemonster said is true about interference with o2 readings, but I would highly doubt you'd do any valve damage.

The only time you could risk that is running open header (IE no header on the car)

It takes a decent bit to warp or crack a valve, a crack in a manifold will not cause temp. change rapid enough to screw a valve, I assure you.
