Oil leak on valve cover

When I was working on my car today I noticed that there was a little oill leaking from my valve cover. so took the cover for the spark plugs off and looked around.

anyone else seen this before?? all I had to do is tighten the 2 bolts you see in the picture between the last 2 cylinders. bad thing is i have to clean that crap off now.

I'm almost certain that you or someone took the cover off before. Thats why it is recommended that a torque wrench be used for removal and installation of these parts. Like you mentioned... its not a big deal, just have to clean it. Peace

You should replace the valve cover gasket, and the four o-ring gaskets (I think thats what there called: ) There all under there.

Thats whats leaking...

Under the valvecover there are rubber o rings under each spark plug hole. If you remove the valve cover it is possible that one of these came off and the oil is coming from there. That is usually why it leaks in that region.

Maybe Honda did at one point but I don't think that they would have. I've never taken it off before. maybe I'll just bring it to them and let them deal with it. Thanks guys.

I just bought a valve cover gasket 2 days ago from the dealer $12.00. Get one and use some Purple Power to clean the spooge off , you'll be good as new. Just rember don't over tighten the bolts/ studs.
PS. sorry about your tail lights (from other post)
