oil problem

what up, hey i was checking my oil level and today and noticed that the level of the oil was below the first line (the lowest line). i checked for leaks in the garage, and i didn't see any at all. could the cause of this be from hard driving? i ask this because i tend to drive my car up in the VTEC range often. also, i've done a couple quarter mile runs with my car. i also heard the theory that if you run the car hard, it'll burn oil? is this the case? well in any case, i filled up the oil back to the nominal level. what's goin on here?

peace

All gasoline engines burn oil, the harder you drive, the more oil your burning, if you think its a major problem, you can usually smell it, or if your exhaust tip is blackened quite badly. if you just keep an eye on the level for a bit and see when it drops, you'll probably notice that its nothing to worry about

im assuming you know what normal oil smells like, now think of that smell, but heated up, so that its got a bit of a "burnt smell" to it, if you open your hood after long periods of driving, enough to get the engine hot, you should be able to smell something. also check your exhaust tip. lots of black buildup = not good.
especially for an engine with 30k miles.
