I'd say skip the B16 and go for the JDM H22. JUN has a stage 3 kit for the H22 now, you can have an all motor H22 running faster than the B16 turbo. You will have gobs more torque with the H22 and the reliability of all motor. You will need a mounting kit from HASPORT. I think they run around $450?? The H22 and the B16 will cost pretty much the same as well. Also, if you go for the JDM H22, you can get JDM LSD tranny as well.

If your looking for a B16 from a 99-00 Si it will be about 3 grand(JDM). If you want a H22 from a 96ish Lude(JDM) it will be like 3,200. U must be shopping for older B16's from the Del Sol'd(USDM) right? U would be better off with a H22 stock then a B16 with a turbo in the long run. U will destroy all with a H22 once u mod it. The b16 can be made to go real fast, but will cost $$$ because of the lack of torque.

if going for the h22, might as well gut out an existing prelude, too many parts to swap over

The whole point of a H22 in a civic is the horsepower/torque to weight ratio. That gets throw out the window when u have the H22 in a heavy ass lude. Ludes are way too heavy for 4 cylinders.

HAve fune with a lude swap into ur 92...lol....gonna take alot of work...from what i hear...plus the motors are mounted ar a diff angle in the ludes...so it throws off the whole geometry of the car off in a civic...but if u get ti to work... greta..hella swap

It will make your front end weigh more, thats it. With the right suspension set-up this swap is an animal. Take one ride in a H22 civic and u will see what I am taling about. The swap is really not a lot of work. You need to purcahse the mounting kit, a larger radiator(one from a GSR-junkyard) and then anything else you would normally need for a power increase like a stronger clutch and some beefier brakes.

he obviously wants to go turbo, for that amount of money, a b20 turbo setup will kill that h22a setup

A b20vtec setup alone will have u running low 14s easily, turbo it and ull be able to pretty much walk away from anything on the street

a friend recently tried putting an h23 (?the non vtec?) into his 89 hatch...he had to get a new hood and he had to raise the suspension a lil bit the motor is huge. he ended up spending a lot more than he thought

You can hit 13s in a turbo'ed d-series... Why not save some loot and buy a d16z6, strengthen it a bit, slap a greddy kit on it and call it a day. Use the money saved to do suspension... Can we say benen?

he already has a d16z6...92 civic SI. i do agree with you though, turboing that d-series would yield great times and wouldn't cost as much as a swap + turbo or all motor buildup.

I bought a b16a engine and it is installed into my 92 si as of this moment I used the tranny from the 94-01 integra gsr for higher top speeds since my car should be running mid 13s when Im through with it.I have decided to go with a JRSC running 10psi or if its possible I would like to run 12psi does anyone know if jackson racing makes a 12psi pulley for the jrsc kit for the b16a engine.
