Possible 04 SI Owner
Alright due to some financial things I may be downgrading the Accord and getting an 04 SI.
What I would like is to hear from any SI owners that have this body style/engine, and tell me how tuneable the motor is and is there plenty of good quality parts for it?
I have searched but I just don't have all damn day to go through all the results!
Just a quick word from you SI owners would be awesome.
And please no post telling me to get the 99-00 SI. If i could find one with less than 30k miles on it that hasn't been riced out I would jump on it!

K-series is the way to go.
The weak part in the k20a3 is the head. It's kinda just a VTEC-E. Swap the head with a k20a (type R) and you'll get a decent amnt of power.
K-series are in everything these days so you have lots of options.
You could even swap the motor out for a TSX 2.4 liter iVTEC ...

the weak part in the Si is that it kinda has iVTEC-E. It really has no performance VTEC.
That's why I said you should swap the head. You'll see more gains for the $$ ...and unleash more potential for yourself down the road.
Of course there is always boost.

toda, crower, ips all makes cams for this car. theres valve springs, valves, rods, pistons, intake, race headers, exhausts, throttle bodys, intake manifolds, everything u can think of basically. but i would swap the head. the 160hp k20a3 doesnt have that good of flow and like somone already said vtec just doesnt feel like a real vtec. its weak. u can do high comp. pistons, k20a head, intake, race header, exhaust and some ips cams and get like 240-260 whp. o dont forget k-pro. k-pro is the best ecu available for the k20s. everything is fully adjustable with a click of a mouse. if u have n e questions let me kno

Thanks guys!!! I am feeling much better about my choice now!!
There are virtually no performance pieces for the k series Accord motor so I was getting frustrated.
The updated look of the 04 SI i think makes it look much better than the 03 and previous. So the looks have actually grown on me.
And saving about 150 bucks a month in car payments doesn't hurt either.

incorrect. no one "yet" makes cams for the K20A3. crower has some still in development. i spoke with Brian about 3 weeks ago and they are trying to get them out by the end of summer. they were supposed to be out in May but got delayed.
Toda and IPS only make cams for the K20A2 and K20A
