do you shift at low RPM? liek below 3000? if so, don;t making your car works too hard bogging wastes gas too. try to stay above 3000 and below 4500 and you should get decent gas milage... and don;t pump premium unless your car is heavily modded.

ummm... no shifting at low RPM under 2200 especially for the new Si is bad for it, since your car works harder than it should. honda recomend shifting at least 3000 rpm, or at certain speed.

1-2 gear 15mph
2-3 gear 30mph
please don;t go to top gear unless you're at least 45 mph

For a b16 shifting under 3000 makes the car work hard.

But not for a k20...and especially not for an h22.

There are many factors involved..if your accelorating, DO NOT start at low RPMs, if your maintaining speed (cruising) than 2000 rpm is fine. For me, I keep mine at 3k most of the time. My gas mileage is about 28 max on the highway, and about 20-23 city. I would not use 93 octane unless you do striclty city driving in high temp climate. Low octane for highway cooler climate.

Mine will ping with 87 or 89 in the city so I use 93. Traveling I use 89.

Mine also makes a "clacking" noise right at 2200 mostly when deccelorating. I suspect its the vtc hitting the stop. I am going to diag it soon to make sure. Asking Raz also, he probably knows what it is.
