SI burning oil at 63k?

So, i got my 00 EBP Si with the standard B16A2 in it about 2 months ago. I had the oil changed right away and have been checking it since. I checked it on friday and the stick was almost bone dry. I put a few more quarts in and checked it again. I was driving home yesterday and my girlfriend said that i was smoking quite a bit under hard acceleration. I dont beat my car, but i do try and hit Vtec once in a while. I checked the oil again, and it seemed to be at the same level as when I filled it. Is this normal for these motors, I know the person before me took care of it...any advice?

do you have an oil leak?leaks can be at gaskets....you should check your spark plugs see if they have oil on them if they do could be worn piston rings, or bad valve seals or guides.... and no its not normal for that motor to eat up oil like that...hope it helps and good luck fixing it.

Its quite normal on these cars to tell u the truth. Mine really didnt start burning till 80k or so. My oil change intervals has changed to 2500 miles now instead of 3k. I use mobil one syn too. She still drives good and strong so its worth it to me to change oil every 2500. I normally add a quart after a 1500 just to make sure it'll make it to 3k with out blowing my motor up. I think its its the valve seals that give out quick on honda's. My acura gsr is almost just as bad but then for gsr's, burning oil is about normal from the factory.

how many miles have you driven since the oil change. Ever since I got my Si it goes through about 1/2 qt every 2k miles AND I change my oil at 4k. A 1/2 qt is within reason between oil changes, if you are losing more than that then look for leaks then get the the compression checked.

any leaks under the car?
take the spark plugs out and check them out, run a compression test followed by a leakdown test.

I'm sorry to ask the obvious question, but what color of smoke was it? White or dark/black?

if it was oil, the smoke would be blue, ususally when you have a white smoke, that is coolant
