hello, my name is sean, i drive a 2000 ebp honda civic Si. it is a really quick car, i love the color and its 8k redline. it is bombastic.
yeah...i dont like the stock shifter, its too long, but damn its slick, i wonder if a short shifter would make it hard to shift. my other complaint is, well some dude at honda told me this, i was wondering if i could get it cleared up here, he said that the stock Si exhaust performs jst as well as any other aftermarket exhaust, he said it was made to work with the b16
It is made to worh with a stock B16, not a modified B16. The stock exhaust allows as much flow as posible without getting noisy like most aftermarket exhausts. If u put an exhaust on a stock B16, it will make noise and u will lose torque, which u cannot afford. Get an intake first, then some cams and then maybe go for the exhaust.
I hav short shifter for my teg, it is not hard at all compare to normal ones. Personally, it looks uglier, but oh well. Faster shift, faster you go.
For the exhaust, all stock exhaust are meant to be as quiet as possible, but to carry out some decent power as possible[but not as much as A/M parts(now this depends on ur engine modification)] by restricting this and this, and freeing this and this[general stock parts theory]
But remember, restriction is still restriction.

i love my si, but sometimes the interior bits seem a little bit cheap. i have a few rattles in my car, as opposed to my CL i have never heard a squeak or rattling noise whatsoever. as for the fun factor, the si cannot be beat for its price.
as for exhausts, it may be just for sound, but i feel like my Thermal adds a few HP in the top end. but even if it didnt any HP, id keep it still for the sound.

apex n1 on my car didnt make it any slower off the line, regardless of torque loss, and it gained a few on the top end, which is EXTREMELY noticable at high speeds... like top 3rd 4th and 5th.... especially 5th.... and that was with just an intake to go with it.
the only complaint i have about my Si is it sticks out, so everybody and there grandmother is trying to race me. Fly-by's, people going the opposite direction and revving at me, people 4 cars behind me at a red light revving at me, pickup trucks and minivans trying to get me to race. it just gets annoying. I cant wait to get my hatch done, that way i can teach anyone a quick lesson.

the rattles, is this over time or just a plague ov every civic made, except for the 01, and is the stock Si exhaust that efficient???
gimme its differences from say, the ex? because even with a silencer, the shit is too loud. maybe later ill pick up an apex world sport, that supposed to be the quietest in the world
Hi my name is Sean and I drive a FBP 2000 SI.....seriously my name is sean too....
since this is a place to complain about the si....let me be the first to say that it has a terrible bottom end.....torque is very low....i think its like 111 foot lbs. stock. Thats terrible.
I would like to get a stroker kit since i am all motor, but they are extremely expensive....

For starters, the rattling happens to EVERYONE. I remember hearing ppl complaing about it, I was like, "that sucks, hope that doesn't happen to me." coz at the that time my car was perfect. Around 17-20k the first rattling started. Bummer.
About 2 months ago, I started a thread on the quietest most efficient exhaust, and I finally decided on getting the DC Twin Canister System. It maybe a tad more expensive but it's quiet as all hell, many ppl will complain it being too quiet. Definitely gave me gains along with my DC 4-1 headers (bought and installed on the same day), but most importantly unless I'm wide open throttle, I can't hear shit. My CAI was louder than that! I am extremely pleased with this product...anyone else have the DC TCS?

yeha, the amber lights are cool, what you want the neon glow things?, and yeah the bottom end sucks, but you can compensate by getting a light flywheel, holy shit the b16 revs like a bike and there is no vtec lag at all
