sirII motor into a 92 vx?

hey my buddy has a 92 vx hatch, and wants to know if a jdm sirII engine from a 92-95 sirII (from hmotorsonline) will fit in with the motor mounts from his d15z1, since they are both civic hatches. anyone got any ideas?

No, it will not fit. The SiR II has a B16a engine. His VX has a D-series motor. He will need to get the B-series mounts for that year Civic. Good question though.

On www.jazzproparts.com it says that the b-series is a direct drop in. And of course change the motor mounts.

The engine mounts are a given. they need to be for the series motor you're putting in. It'll drop right in though. Not sure, but when I got the sirII swap for my sol...the mounts that came with it worked just fine. I would have gotten hasport mounts eventually, as I did performance work and what not, but I never got that far anyway, I'm guessing the mounts that come with the swap, if you get it complete, should work in your hatch. Let us know how it all turns out.

I think I was a little unclear on what I was saying. Let me rephrase....

The engine will drop in and the physical demiensions are perfect, but youll need the proper mounts. As it sits now, the engine will not drop right in because the mounts wont allow it. Sorry for the confusion.
