I heard a few guys on the webboard saying skunk stage 3 cams arent streetable at all , i need to know how many of u agree with this ? How many of you have stage 3 cams or know someone with stage 3 cams.. "I dont want to hear skunk2 says they are for race engines," but some technical insight.......
but someone who actually used these cams, and knows something

Wassup dude,
I actually spoke to one of the tech's at SKUNK-2 and asked some questions about the stage-2 & 3's and i told him that i was planning to build an all motor car for street & strip and told him that the motor would be fully built and asked his honest opinion between the two stages and he said that if you were to do more daily driving go with the stage-2's and if you were going to drive the car lets say a couple days out of the week go with the stage-3's. The difference is the idle for the stage-3's. He said that they would idle high and the cams will make the power on the high end of your power band. So meaning the low end performance would be hurting for normal street driving as far as normal shifting like say 3-3,500-rpms for your shift points. I personally dont have any experience with the SKUNK-2 stage-2's or 3's but it's just some input i got from them.
You might want to call them direct and see if they tell you the same thing.
Hope this helps some.
PEACE OUT

Lose VTEC? No you shouldn't lose vtec on the stage three's. As long as you still have the vtec lobe, you will have vtec. And yes, the vtec lobe should have alot more duration then the stock vtec lobe. In your post did you mean to say the primary and secondary lobes are bigger than the vtec lobe? If so, that would not make any sense. Anyway, if you really want to get rid of vtec, get these!! TODA KILLERS!! Hehe

Well, from what I've heard, the Stage3's aren't streetable at all as far as emissions go.. Unless of course you don't have to worry about that..

i was thinking about gettin some skunk2 cams... what i have heard is that they are too rough for daily driver. people have been telling me to get CTR intake cam and ITR exhaust cam for a street / daily driver car.

The Stage1's are alright.. They're a tad more aggressive than a set of R cams I believe..
