sohc vtec cam question

i have 2 sohc vtec motors and the camshafts look different,there both form 92-95 but on one of them the vtec lobe is longer(wider) which would be the better choice to use?also i know what lift is but whats duration,like how is it measured?

Duration is the measured buy the shape of the lobe and by the offset of the other lobes I think. One full rotation of the cam equals one full cycle of the engine. So the the time it takes for the cam to open or close a valve(s) before the another lobe on the cam starts to open or close a valve(s) is duration.
