Question Speedometer is off

We discovered that my speedometer is off. While I was following my husband home one evening and he normally does around 120-130kph and my speedometer was showing 140kph. I called him on his cell phone and he said he was doing 125kph. What could cause something like this? I suspected this for some time, driving in the mornings rush hour traffic and noticed that my speed seemed awfully high for what the flow of traffic was doing.

Thoughts?

since you're from canada i think you meant 140 KILOMETERS an hour and not MILES an hour.
what size tires do you have on your car? honda/acura speedometers are known to be off.

the overall diameter of your crrent rim/tire combo is most likely smaller then what came stock, thus making you're speedo read faster then your actual speed.

stock should be 185/60-14 with d=22.74"
if you're running 205/40-16, then d = 22.46"

being a 1/4" off shouldn't account for a 15kph difference though.
