Street Legal 10 sec. civic?
Is it possible to get a B16 Civic Si down to 10's in the quarter while keeping her street legal?
I can't quote the guy for sure, but it sounded seriously like he was saying that it would be hard to get a B16 Si down to 12's, 11's, or 10's (maybe even 13's I'm not sure about the time he stated, but he did say something to the effect that it would be hard if not impossible to get it that fast while still having her street legal).
Personally I'd rather go with a B18C1 - what's the horsepower and torque rating on them, and can they be made fast (10.4 would definately be nice with slicks - but I'd want some fat rubbered 17's or 18's on that same car) with ample mods while still being street legal?

What do you consider street legal?
Have you ever seen a car run a 10 second quarter mile before?? It's a LOT faster than you think, until you actually see it done..

My buddys Camaro is a 10 second car and it hates red lights (loads up like a bitch) I couldn't imagine a 10 sec civic at a stop light or worse stop and go traffic.:eek

Is it an automatic?
if not, why can't he put it in neutral at stop lights or coast when in stop and go traffic?
Assuming it's a manual, does he have to give it any gas, or can he make the car move just by putting it in first, and just letting off the clutch slowly?
My Civic will back up just by me letting off the clutch slowly, but I have to be on level ground, or the front end has to be slightly higher then the rear end (obviously).

What I meant was that I'd want a civic that with slicks can run like 10.4 on a dragstrip with a very skilled driver. which should mean that it would run 11's or low 12's on regular street tires and with some 17 or 18 inch rims on it.
I plan on stripping out my car's backseat and boning it all out from behind the backseats all the way back to the trunk. I also want to get rid of the donut tire and keep a matching rim/tire spare to go with the 4 mounted in the trunk. That should help shave like .2 of a second off my time shouldn't it?

He has got a 68 RS with a 5XX CI big block I forgot what one it's a new motor. He has No2 but doesn't use it because of traction problems. I have never seen his car at the track but I have seen pics of the camaro doing wheelies. And yes it's an auto I joke with him all the time about him getting 14 galons a mile if he's lucky.
