I went with the TSI kit despite finding no one else with it, and now I think I know why. It came with the wrong intercooler piping, wrong BOV connector, missing some clamps, and came with no air filter.
Despite all this, we managed to get the kit on the car after about 15 hours with some modifying and custom fabrication of the intercooler piping. Everything fit fine and I am pleased with the setup.
It comes with the AEM FIC and is supposed to be flashed for this application and should plug right in and let the car run properly. This however was not the case. For whatever reason, the car sputters and hesitates, and will hardly boost till about 4500, when it will sometimes go to 9psi which its not supposed to go that high. Anyway, its running pretty rough but I think with a good tune it will be fine.
Now I have to find someone who can tune AEM. Does anyone know any good AEM tuners in the southeast? Any suggestions welcome.
sorry to hear that you met a really bad end... should have asked before buying the turbo... on a different note, cant help you out on AEM tuners cause i live in the west
Talked to TSI today and had some light shed on the problem. Apparently it was bad packing as to why I was missing some clamps and the air filter, and had the wrong intercooler piping. We got everything on so it wasnt a big deal, but still, you should get what you pay for right?
Next issue was tuning. They said the AEM FIC was tuned only enough to get the car running so you can take it to a tuner. Thats kind of what I figured, but I wanted to be sure.
Everything is holding up great, I just need to have it tuned now. I'll post updates and pics/movies soon.
Took the car to be tuned. It seemed like it was going well at first, he got rid of the spittin and sputterin, that is until full throttle. He asked if I had the right injectors because the fuel system wasn't acting right. He then asks if I had a different fuel pump than stock, which I dont because the kit supposedly doesnt need one.
So anyway, It is running smoother but I still cant boost. He told me to get a fuel pump and bring it back for another tune and it should work.
I called ProCivic, (where I bought the kit), and told them of my dilema. They told me that several of the kits have been sold and that Im the only one who has had a problem, and that they would get back to me.
So I drove a total of 8 hours today for nothing, plus Im leaving for vacation tomorrow for a week so my car will have to sit at home till after, when I can hopefully get my poor car running. Till then.
I just realized that I made an error: I thought my injectors were 440cc when in fact they are 410cc. I told the tuner they were 440cc and thats what he input in the FIC.
Could this be the problem? If so, Im an idiot
If he entered 440cc when in fact you had 410cc then yeah, that would create problems. The FIC would think it was squirting in more fuel than it really was...leading to too lean of a mixture and probably detonation (yes that's a bad thing).
I'm not entirely sure how good the OEM RSX fuel pump is, but 99% of the time you should upgrade the pump before boosting. Fuel supply is something you NEVER want to skimp on with forced induction.
In any case, good luck and keep us updated.

Replaced BOV with a diverter valve and got it recirculating. It runs smoother now but still cant boost. Going to leave it with tuner tomorrow, he's going to put a fuel pump on and tune it.Hopefully this will set it right.
I dont mean it wont boost, I mean that when I boost things dont go like theyre supposed to. It sputters a little and then boosts, and then goes into limp mode where I have to restart my car.
Anyway, left it with the tuner today so hopefully he'll get it running right.
