Yes, both will fit. The 99-00 si uses basically the same exact tranny as the type r. The type r just has a limited slip. I dunno if the final drive is the same though. I've heard that is was and that it wasn't. And I'm just too lazy to check, someone tell me? hehe Oh and right now, im running a b18c5 with a si tranny :

well im not sure either, but i know the type R has a longer 5th gear then the Si, and also i think the 4.785 final drive is only on JDM ITR 's and USDMs come with 4.400? maybe thats why u are hearing both?, personally i would just take the LSD .... thats all u need
Any B-series tranny will bolt to any B-series engine. However, you would be better off just picking up a Quaife or Kazz LSD. The CTR gears and final drive are the same ratio as the 99-00 Si.

The Type R tranny and the 99-00 Civic SI tranny are almost exactly the same. Even the gearing if I remember right.
The LSD on the Type R is pretty potent out of the box. But if I were going to install a LSD I would just spend the money on the Quaife LSD it has been proven over and over agian on the race track.

ahha ..well ..he found out last weekend u can do it....so.. too late..but i aint got the cash to get a typer tranny now..plus my tranny only got 59k on it..so got to get the money's worth first.

si and type r tranny have the same gears but the type r has a lsd and a 4.7 fd, i want to get a type r tranny rebuild it with an ats 4.9fd and an ls 5th gear,bad ass acceleration and nice highway cruising excellent for allmotor applications.

Only the 98-01 JDM ITR has a 4.785 final drive. All 95-97 JDM ITR, USDM ITR, CTR, and 99-00 Si have a 4.40 final drive.
