does it really stiffen the chassis and try to prevent body roll? if so, is this one good?

My friend has this on his hatch he says it makes the car more ridgid but it does not prevent body roll its not a sway bar

Those are a waste of money. More effective to replace bushings. They also tend to hang low which can cause ground clearance issues. If you ever have something hit this bar even once, it can tweak/bend the bar which will cause problems with your suspension.

Simply not worth the money/headache...
