Which valvetrain???
Hi. I was asking which valvetrain to use in my B16.
Since decided to go NA, dont know if to choose std or Hi compression set...
Also decided to get CTR cams. wanted to add some CTR+ cams but it gets to a difficult choice....

CTR+ cams?
Anyway if you are going to stick with the CTR cams then I suggest a OEM CTR/ITR valvetrain, and LMAs if you can find them.
No sense in getting a stiffer setup than you need as it will just increase valvetrain wear.

CTR+ cams = sk2, crower etc. stage 1
Where can I get OEM CTR valvetrain???
what are LMAs???
Also asking the difference between a std valve and Hi compression valve...

keep your stock valves. if anything just get itr intake valves. how much power do you want to make? this will determine what cams you get.

aye and where do you want the power...buddy club spec 3+ cams make not make as much peak power as skunk2 stage 2 but they have very solid powerband.

oh and LMAs are lost motion assemblies...typically overlooked when modding b-series heads.
As far as I understand it, their job is to basically absorb the vibration and motion of the rocker arms when VTEC isn't engaged...so this effectively reduces valvetrain wear and noise.
If you are just staying with CTR cams then b16a ones are most likely just fine, IMO; but if you plan on getting something more aggressive (say, skunk2 stage 2 or something) then it might be a good idea to throw in ITR LMAs.

I didnt know anything about LMAs... in fact, don't even know how do they look like... :eek
I'm just looking for some CTR cams or something just a bit more agressive, without going to stage 2... just something good for everyday ride, without many hassles...
But also thinking of this; if I go CTR cams, I would like to take my rev limit to 8800-9000 rpms....(just if it is justified with power of course)
But the point is, where to get OEM parts... I mean CTR, ITR valvetrain, LMAs, etc.... does Honda dealership sell them???

In that case I suggest getting skunk2 stage1 cams, itr or skunk2 valvetrain....you will need tuning though...even if it's just with a VAFC. You can find ITR parts either from the dealer or your best bet is online...ebay or forums.
As for high compression valves vs standard valves.....high compression valves raise your compression..as simple as that. not entirely sure by how much...probably by a few tenths of a point.
Here are pics of LMAs btw taken from c-speedracing

all b series lma's are essentially the same. as long as you dont have first gen b16 lma's you're fine.

ctr cams arent going to make power that high. you can find the cams and valvetrain at www.inlinefour.com

I see~~~!! I understand now....
now, do you know anything about omnipower valvetrain set? the hole pack is about $485 and it has all (dual springs, Ti retainers and valves -you can choose STD or HI)...
Also want to know what happens if I use CTR cams with an upgraded valvetrain? what means "it wiil have more wear"? will it run more stressed?
Is there any sense in upgrading my whole valvetrain then? or just simply throw in ITR intake valves and srpings...

If CTR cams aren't making power that high, should I keep my stock rev limit then (8400 rpms)???
The hole point is that I'm in Argentina... I really doubt if is there anyone (if any) who can make a good dyno tunnig... Thats the reason I want to skip as many "tuning" as possible...
I'm also wondering if I can get a chip upgrade down here dammmm~!

omni's are fine. compression gained from valves isnt going to be a whole lot.

you can have a basemap made for your engine from www.phearable.net then tune it yourself if there's noone local to you.

If you are putting cams in you must get them tuned or they will be useless.
