Warning about TSI

It's been a while since I've posted about my 08 Si with the TSI kit. Here's a quick summary: Put the kit on 4th of July weekend, tried to get it tuned, took it back and left the car with tuner, it's been there almost 4 weeks now, my tuner said he just can't get it right.

He has done a lot of calling and researching trying to get the AEM FIC to work but without success. He has called TSI,AEM,Procivic, and even Shawn Church who originally tuned the kit, and has still not been able to get it right.

I have emailed and spoken with Procivic and am waiting for a response. I have not found a single person who has got this kit to work properlly and I am approaching the end of my fuse. I am very suprised that Procivic would sell such an unproven product, and I hope for their sake that they can correct this problem in some form or fashion. I'm not one to talk bad about people but I will warn fellow enthusiasts about a shoddy product that does not deliver.

If there is anyone who has got this kit to work properlly please let me know.
On a side note: I was thinking about trying the Greddy E-manage in place of the AEM FIC, any thoughts?

TSI turbo

welcome to the club you are not the only one with problems with your'e tsi turbo bought from procivic. i know of a local honda dealer who just went through the same thing with there 08 SI they couldn't get it working either. procivic told them the same thing they told you, even the local dyno tuner couldn't get it working, the dealer became so frustrated with it they removed the turbo and sold it on ebay for a huge loss. only because procivic wouldn't buy it back for what they paid.

so the problem is with the AEM FIC then, not the tsi kit...

People are having so much trouble with the TSI kit, that TSI is looking for a few 8th gen Si's to sell a discounted kit to and have AEM analyze the cars with the FIC. I have not seen anyone with the it running correctly because of the AEM FIC. Also, I have recently switched to the E-manage Ultimate and can actually boost now. I think the AEM FIC is a good system, but there aren't many people with experience tuning it on 8th gen Si's. Anyway there is a lot more user support for the E-manage Ultimate.

I think the actual TSI kit is very solid, it's the tuning method they chose wasn't the best idea at the time. I think once I get a good tune with the E-manage Ultimate, I should get more power than with the GReddy kit.
