The Way to Performance in Civic

Is there any experts out there in fast driving, the reason being.......

I have a honda civic VTi, 1.6 litre, that has 160bhp and i raced a FORD that is a 1.8litre but dont know the BHP.

I raced him and gave him 2sec start and the VTi just managed to beat him in second gear at pick up, is there something wrong with my VTi or is it normal, as the VTi goes crazy at 6,000rpm and shoots off, but low revs it takes time to pick up ?

ANyone Know ?

They arent very quick at low revs but at 160bhp they can eat any car that runs all the way up to 2.0litre and even BMW 2.5. Even honda have backed the case for honda civic VTi's that its faster then any 2.0litre (non-turbo) in the world. Basically fastest 1.6 in the world on a non-turbo.

So is there anyway to find out what BHP the car has, probably by a Dyno-Tune.

Sounds like he has the Si equivalent with the b16a. From what i heard in UK the Vti is the highest you can go in the Civic.

Is this engine what you have under the hood?

Yes thats the exactly the same engine i have the DOHC VTEC, with 160bhp standard. If you had an experience in this car, do they pull very fast straight away or do they take time around 6,000rpm to really get going ?
