What happens when you put race tires on an Si :)

Take one 2000 Honda Civic Si
+
Kumho VictorRacers (205/50x15) on stock rims

and you get

One mad Civic pulling Gs

Yesterday the local Corvette Club hosted their annual spring autocross. After the morning runs were done I was in 1st place in the Open Class, and 3rd place overall. Only two Corvettes were faster than me and they were race prepped not streetable.

In the afternoon it started drizzling. And I placed 2nd in Open Class, and 3rd/4th overall. My friend in a WRX on race tires got me by .4 seconds in a total downpour, and the same two Corvettes were faster than me.

So overall I did great with the help of some racing tires

What are your suspension mods, its not as simple as slapping on racing tires, lol. How about engine work? I am sure all motor is the route u plan to go, or JRSC is what u have or plan to have. Little more power should put u past those damn vettes!

Nice!!

It seems like everyone in Autocross uses Kumho's.

Can't wait till my next autocross in May.

Well that's a secret

http://home.dejazzd.com/mlouie/mikecivicsi.html

The reason why my friends and I stomp on the vettes is because they hold the autocross in such a smalll lot that smaller Japanese cars rule I didn't have to shift into 2nd at all and the time I did my times were slower. I was only hitting redline for maybe 2 seconds.

Well I'm using the Kumho VictorRacers for other regions besides the one I'm seriously competing in. I'll be in DSP, but I might be outclassed - since most people run engine management systems, LSD, lightened interiors, race seats etc...

I use my Falken Azenis for STS.

Wouldn't those tires put you in STR?

STR is dead. I'm using the Kumho VictorRacers for DSP. And the Azenis tires for STS. The Azenis are a street legal tire, not a DOT racing tire.
